Flint Hill Baptist Church

1. Believe that God Exists: Hebrews 11:6 "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him".

2. Believe that God sent Jesus into the world to save people from their bondage to sin:  John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He sent His only Son, so that whoever believes in Him will have eternal Life"

3. Understand and tell God that you have sinned against Him by living your life without regard to how He has designed you to live and wants you to live:  Romans 3:23  "for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God"

4. Fully realize that the penalty for your sin is that when you die, you will be eternally separated from God:  Romans 6:23  "But the wages of Sin is death"

5. Believe that Jesus Christ, as the only human to have never sinned, took the penalty for your sin by dying on the cross, and proved His power over death by rising from the dead: Romans 10:9  "That if you declare with you mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved"

The Prayer for Salvation

If you believe with your heart all of what is written to the left, you might pray a prayer similar to this:

Heavenly Father, I believe that you exist and that Jesus your Son died on the cross for my sins.  I confess to you that I know I am a sinner and that I will trust in Jesus' sacrifice on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins. With your help I will try to live the rest of my life as you want me to live.  Thank you for saving me and giving me a new life.  Amen
